Senior Accounting Specialist

We are now looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist to join a close-knit and supportive team.
Your day-to-day
As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for handling purchase invoices and assisting accounting assignments for international client. Your role will include handling AP invoices and VAT processing, managing banking and payment transactions, allocating incoming payments, and processing travel and expense claims, all with the support of your team.
You will join a highly skilled international team where support is always available, colleagues seamlessly back each other up and work is carried out in a positive and relaxed atmosphere. Roles and responsibilities within the team are clearly defined: the Accounting Advisor oversees the overall accounting process and financial statements, while Accounting Specialists focus on accounts payable and other supporting accounting tasks.
We operate in a fully digital accounting environment. We leverage modern tools and continuously improve our financial processes through automation, robotics and AI. Our in-house AI solution, StariaMind, together with other financial AI tools, supports our experts in daily tasks, making work more efficient and smooth.
In practice, you will:
Managing and allocating purchase invoices, including accruals, reconciliations, and issue resolution across international clients and systems
Supporting payment processes, including monitoring transactions, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy and proper controls
Assisting with accounting tasks, such as investigating discrepancies, preparing reconciliations, and supporting balance sheet reporting
Handling VAT matters in AP, including international transactions and applying relevant regulations and exceptions
Collaborating closely with clients as a proactive point of contact while working in close cooperation with your team to ensure smooth daily operations
Contributing to the development and documentation of accounting processes, identifying improvement and automation opportunities

Staria has offices in Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Salo, Kotka and Lahti. In Oulu, we offer co-working space for our employees.
Our base salary range for this role is €2700–3000/month, depending on your background. The holiday bonus is distributed evenly across your monthly pay, so it’s part of your regular salary.

Several years of experience in independently managing accounts payable and other finance-related tasks, including supporting accounting activities, combined with experience in a client-facing role
Experience working in an international environment and collaborating with stakeholders across different countries

Experience with NetSuite is considered an advantage
Fluent English skills as English is the official working language of the organization
