Senior AI Software Engineer
Want to move beyond AI buzzwords and actually build solutions that make an impact? And what if you could do all that while helping shape how a growing company designs and delivers AI solutions for the future? If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, read on.
We are now looking for an Senior AI Software Engineer.
What it’s all about?
As a Senior AI Software Engineer, you’ll be a core member of Staria’s AI team, building and evolving AI‑driven solutions that support both our internal operations and customers. Your work will directly contribute to Staria’s Intelligent Automation strategy, turning business needs into scalable, high‑quality AI solutions.
Journey that awaits you:
Staria’s AI solutions are primarily built on Microsoft AI Foundry and you’ll work hands‑on across the full lifecycle: from defining use cases with business stakeholders to developing, maintaining and continuously improving AI‑based products in agreed sprints.
Collaboration is key in this role. Together with other developers and stakeholders, you’ll help shape what we build, how we build it and how AI is applied to create real business value. Beyond development, you’ll take strong ownership of ensuring our AI solutions meet high standards of performance, reliability and maintainability.
You’ll also stay at the forefront of AI development by actively following advances in commercial AI solutions, language models, and the wider AI landscape - using this knowledge to influence technical direction, advising business stakeholders, and ensure Staria takes the right approach as AI continues to evolve.
In practice you will:
Build, deploy and operate Staria’s internal (e.g TAL.ai, Posting.ai) and external AI solutions using Microsoft AI Foundry services
Work closely with business stakeholders to define clear AI use cases and translate business needs into technical solutions
Design, develop and integrate AI functionality into existing systems and workflows
Contribute to agile sprint cycles, including planning, development, testing and reviews
Take ownership of maintaining, optimizing and scaling existing AI solutions
Investigate and resolve technical issues and support internal users and customers when needed
Assess and experiment with new AI tools, platforms and language models, recommending when and how to adopt them
Document architectures, implementations and best practices and actively share knowledge within the team
Stay up to date with AI technologies, industry trends, emerging risks and factor them into design decisions
Based on your interest, you may also contribute AI expertise to the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team
Your everyday at Staria:
You’ll work alongside another developer based in Turku, while your manager is based in Helsinki. Thanks to our flexible remote work options, you can work fully remotely from any corner of Finland or from any of our offices. Staria has offices in Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Salo, Kotka and Lahti. In Oulu, we offer co-working space for our employees.
Our base salary range for this role is €5500–6500/month, depending on your background. The holiday bonus is distributed evenly across your monthly pay, so it’s part of your regular salary.
What helps you thrive in this role:
Experience building and maintaining AI solutions using Python and Azure (including Azure OpenAI), with exposure to modern CI/CD practices and infrastructure tools such as Terraform
Practical understanding of LLM‑based and chatbot solutions (e.g. Chainlit) and the ability to apply them to real business use cases
Experience developing and operating production‑ready AI products, particularly in Linux/Ubuntu environments, with basic server administration skills
A solid technical foundation in API integrations, testing, version control and working with databases (e.g. SQL) and frameworks such as TensorFlow
Full‑stack development mindset, helping you understand and contribute across multiple layers of a solution
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, enabling you to tackle complex technical challenges
Ability to connect AI technologies with business needs, creating practical and scalable solutions
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with both customers and internal stakeholders
Experience with RPA or other automation technologies is a plus, but curiosity and interest in intelligent automation matter most
